1st Crookham Beavers Spring Camp Damboree
So, we thought ‘lets do a two night camp, how hard can it be, and the second night is supposed to be easier’ (so everyone says). Planning started, dates were set.
Then it dawned on us….
Never Give Up! Never Surrender
East Cornwall District held their very first Damboree a few weeks ago at Nine Ashes Scout Activity Centre with almost 90 Beavers present. Sadly, the original camp that was planned for September 2018 had to be postponed due to a horrid storm on the camp date that swept in across the South West on the Damboree weekend uprooting trees and causing flooding.
Typical, thanks Mother Nature! We just had to put the Beavers safety first and move the date to early spring.
More Song Adaption Goodness!
As you may remember, Stuart Ball likes to tinker with songs to give them a Damboree feel. He’s done some very cruel things to classic like the opening monologue to War The Worlds, and the Duck Tales theme. So it’s nice to know there are others out there who respect musical culture more than he does.
